[edit] The group values

  • Creating a self-managing group

This includes every member's active involvement and presence in their group. Each person in each group knows best what they need to sustain their group and hold each other accountable for group effectiveness.

  • Creating an environment of trust and safety

To build group trust and safety, we practice  mutual respect, integrity, honesty, transparency and confidentiality.

  • Ensuring inclusion of all members and to honor and learn from the rich diversity present in each group.

[edit] Who operates the group?

Dreamfish members operate the group. At all times, members are serving in one of the following roles:

  • Group Coordinator – Coordinating is a practice in management. The coordinator is responsible for having the group roles assigned each week, the logistics of the in-person space and conference call, and moderating the email list. The coordinator is a consistent presence in the group, and the point of contact between the group and Dreamfish Service.
  • Group Facilitator – Facilitating is a practice in collaboration. The facilitator keeps time, reads this Welcome sheet, models the communication norms by sharing first, and actively seeks equitable sharing among members. Each week, the facilitator role rotates.
  • Group Note-taker – This is a practice in communication. Takes notes during meeting, and posts to the group’s email list.
  • Community-builder – Being a community-builder is a practice in marketing and communication.  Community-builders welcome each new member to Dreamfish, and helps members to sign up for membership, and the group email list. During or after each group, community builders share any reflections from members on social media.
  • Twitter Hashtag: #dreamfish
