[edit] Project Description

The Wave Campaign is the member drive to launch the Dreamfish network, which enables low-income entrepreneurs to earn a wage for food and shelter, and build sustainable work for all. The campaign raises awareness about Micro-entrepreneurship as a force to alleviating poverty.

The campaign comes in waves. Each wave is four months long. There are three waves: June - September; October - January; February - May. Each Wave targets different audiences in the ecosystem.

[edit] How each Wave Works

There are three waves. Each wave is viral and each wave gets bigger in size. Here is how a wave works:

[edit] 1. Call to Waves!

A user sees video on facebook, Df.com front page, blogs. In this video, Tiff gives call to action and explains why your supporting micro-entrepreneurship will give people food and shelter, and change the economy. This call to action is given in English. In later wave, we provide messages in Spanish, Urdu, French, Danish, Japanese.

[edit] 2. Make Waves! - Recruit M.E.'s

  • Instructional video to create and upload short D.I.Y video with cell phone/camera of you or other.
  • Instructions to list themselves and their projects on network.
  • instructions are translated in Spanish, Japanese, Urdu, French, Chinese, Danish.

[edit] 3. Catch Waves!

"online auction"ish experience

We will reach out to micro-investors and people looking to hire to Dreamfish network to hire, invest, loan or partner with an entrepreneur.

  • User watches, and shares videos. At end of video, user clicks on url to connect with an entrepreneur.
  • User hires or invests in micro-entrepreneurs services and products. In the process, user signs up to be Df member.
  • Each time that someone tips an entrepreneur, the action of giving is seen on individual's friends' Twitter stream. We will likely use Tipjoy.
  • Participants then spread news of upcoming events on twitter, email newsletter, facebook, linkedin ....

[edit] 4. Wave Event!

An event marks the end of one wave cycle and the beginning of next wave cycle. The first event is on Labor Day, peer-organized, inspiring, ME's, funders come together on same day in different regions, connected with Twitter. At these events, final pledges are given to hire or fun micro-entrepreneurs. At each event, participants can see an ensemble of pledges from around the world on a projection screen with Twitter stream.
