Our work culture is unique, to be sure. Dreamfish principles are big ideas that infuse every aspect of a member's experience.
As Dreamfish members, we mutually support our growth and development. People learn from experiences. We learn by working together. As we do, we develop socially, ethically and professionally.
Diversity is core to Dreamfish as a work community. Our Diversity Statement is a declaration and celebration of the richness and strength that we find in our ecosystem of members. Sustainability Principle
We actively make choices that mindfully supports the health of projects we work on, our coworkers, the earth and its creatures.
We support a wide range of value to be created or exchanged. Everyone has different needs, and so wants different value through work. Sometimes, money is what is needed. Sometimes, not. One might value: Paying for food and shelter. Learning. Accomplishment. Making our life matter. We can exchange money. We can also invest in a project because the world will be better for it.
We are as open and transparent in our work as possible to be highly efficient with resources, and allow more people to benefit from the work created. Working out Loud allows one coworker to easily learn from another coworker (e.g., on how to use a tool, how to run a meeting or manage a project). This is also why our main workspace is a wiki. If you want a private space, you are welcome to create one. This may take some adjustment, if you have worked behind a wall for awhile. But, those of us who have made the transition, find this new way of work liberating!
Member Guidelines are agreements that we make to this work community. Member Guidelines covers your behavior as a member of Dreamfish network, in any wiki, forum, chat, mailing list, web site, public meeting or private correspondence.
Each member and each contribution in this community is valuable. We expect for each person to be treated with the upmost regard and respect. We respect people's time, efforts, and expressions. Please see our Diversity Statement. Practice Extraordinary Project Management
Project-based work can be an efficient flexible way to get work done. It can keep costs low when done well. It is a new way of work for many people. To enable this new way of work, we strive towards excellent project management practices. As members are at different skill levels of project management, we teach each other as we learn.
There are things we don't know that we don't know. By giving each other feedback, we can become more aware and more effective at work.
Our perspectives are often different from each other. If you have any disagreement or distress over the conduct of a member of the community, please do not assume the worst. Check your own assumptions out directly with the other person. Own your own interpretations and feelings about the situation. If need be, please ask a Facilitator or Dreamfish Service Team member for help to facilitate.
When you leave or disengage from the project, in whole or in part, we ask that you do so in a way that minimises disruption to the project. This means you should tell people you are leaving and take the proper steps to ensure that others can pick up where you leave off.
Please see Terms of Service.
