[edit] Orientation for new people in Dreamfish

reference http://www.wikihow.com/wikiHow:Tour

wikiHow is Dreamfish friendly and a good model to emulate.

How do I Get Started?

  • (currently wiki page called How to get started)
  • It's the first place where new people can go to get information.

How To (tiffany sees) (needs prioritization)

  • fun and friendly D.I.Y. videos and instructions.
    • how to give feedback
    • how to market yourself
    • how to create a successful profile page
    • how to create a project
    • how to list a job offering
    • How to create a Wave video

Some tasks to help develop orientation

  1. create one page outline of current orientation process
  2. Create a list of every tool http://network.dreamfish.com/wiki/Tools and create a page of which tools currently are being used by user types. -worker, job provider, service team member, internal only

Next Steps:

  • Start styling pages based on wikiHow

[edit] Being organized to get task done

  • Tiff learned from Getting Things Done (GTD). Recommends tailoring it to individual needs
    • Having one place where all my next steps are and focusing more on next steps instead of deadlines.
    • Having a context for the next steps works as it lessens switching costs.
    • Gets more done during the weekends when there are fewer interruptions
    • Experimenting with an iPhone app, [[1]] with GTD functions and tags. Syncs with Google Calendar.
  • Johannes wants to organize his time in blocks of time since he likes to work better that ways.
  • This is a hot topic and good for future Community Calls.

[edit] Topics for future Community Calls
