[edit] Participants
[edit] Purposes
- support initial conditions for a thrivable work network
- connect people to one another's work
- introduce the Dreamfish vision and how it works
- explore new and evolving projects in Dreamfish
[edit] Agenda
- Welcome - Tiffany
- Introductions - Name, place, what brought you here, one thing that may surprise us about you
- Tiffany: grew up in New York and CA, lived in Berlin. American/Irish/Chinese/German culture.
- Scott: live in Hayward, CA Have been working on online communities. This will be my first time using a wiki for that purpuse. Just recently entered the dreamfish waters after connecting with Tiffany. Strong interest in 16th century surgery techniques
- Johannes: from Bavaria, digital design, film, developing film in the Dreamfish Wave Campaign. studied car design. environmentalist, sees cars as object of design, rather than something for transportation.
- Kaf: from Hongkong, in San Francisco, studiing communications design. Now I do a graphic internship in San Francisco at Dreamfish
- Peter: in New York, british background, got here by mistake 43 years ago. Everything #1 was in Amerika 40 years ago, but not anymore. That got me concerned. Found out that there is freedom and the thinking that nothing is undoable. This represents a great opportunity. Technically we can solve a lot of our problems. The challenge is the oranizational part. Community is at the center of that.
[edit] Questions you bring
- Peter: How much of a hurry are you in?
- Peter: How is Dreamfish approaching Value? Metrics?
- Scott: How does Dreamfish define success?
- Scott: where are we in 1, 3, 5, 10, 20 yrs?
- Peter: Where are we in 5 weeks, 10 weeks, 20 weeks?
[edit] Conversation
maybe? We try to provide the initial network for this to get created.
- Peter: everything works exponentially. If you go up, you go up fast, but if you go down, its fast as well. So going fast is better, when you go in the right direction.
- Tiffany: We are creating capacity to alleviate poverty. Transforming capitalism. That would be the end game.
- Peter: The pursuit of Happiness works with refugees. I have an idea of putting metrics on to the Values. Most of the times I talk about values.
- Tiffany: about values: as people enter to dreamfish, they can describe what is valuable for them in dreamfish. They can take a survey to select their values. Depending on their stage of life and context, there is wide range of values. Then they can choose a project of their values. The success is than: finding work and creating work that is valuable to them.
- Scott: As an organization, how does dreamfish say: yes, we are on the right track. Interested in Peter's Q about metrics and also interested in how Dreamfish defines - we are successful when ... reduction of Poverty? When it is a rocket, what fins are on it to controll its direction?
- Peter: the Q of success can be looked at different ways - for indivdual level, org level, community level
- Scott: would agree with that.
- Tiffany: Answering this question continues to evolve. We are all in the devining of that. Both of you had a great radar in finding this question. Dreamfish defines success in different Blended value levels, from individual to community, organizational and environmental levels, and that is also why finding what is success is essential. As people come together they help deminish poverty as well as reducing their Environmental footprint. I invite all of us to define success.
- Peter: fascinated by metrics and values. I find it hard to link where I am and where dreamfish is. Does dreamfish include or exclude things that are at a different level?
- Tiffany: There will be plenty of Diversity and Projects in the network, an Alternative currency could be one,
- Peter: a currency on value creating is much better in the world of today than what we have now. People creating wealth by creating value is a very powerfull idea.
- Tiffany: that is why we are not fixing on a currency, so we can explore a more human and generative possibility.
- Peter: Projects with a reversed pyramid are already happening around the world
- Tiffany: the concept of Micro entrepreneurs in dreamfish is more of a peer to peer model. This becomes more empowering to the people that can not bring money to the table.
- Peter: as long as someone brings value to the table, they are welcome?
- Tiffany: yes. rather inclusive. Values are subjective. dreamfish used to be a network for social entrepreneurs, but not everyone is an entrepreneur for social reasons.
- Tiffany: this conversation is great to continue in a different meeting and esential to dreamfish
